Your final task before leaving for the long voyage is FOR BOTH to look up ONE piece of new navigation technology you will be using so that you can teach your partner about how you will be using it. THIS INFORMATION COULD SAVE YOUR LIVES! Simply, search for ONE of the following tools and write a few sentences describing WHAT the instrument is and HOW it is used. (You can also look at p. 97 in your text to get you started.)
Astrolabe-navigator used by astronomers.
Sextant-replaced the astrolabe, and it is used to measure the height of the star above the horizon. Sextant was used for navigation. It is an instrument that helps to measure the angle between any two objects. Making this measurement is known as shooting and sighting the object. People use sextant to measure the sun and the measure of altitude.
Compass-Used for navigation during 17th century
Caravel-Has triangle shape which is 65 feet long and it gives power to ship to let it move maneuverability

Summary
: I realized that many of those adventurer discovered many routes and paths between each continent. Some adventurer found out the route to South America from Europe, and some adventurer, discovered path in North America..etc.
Christopher Columbus was a first Spanish explorer who found out South America. He tried to find a path to India, and he couldn't get to India, but found a new continent. He rode Santa Maria which are small carrack.
Christopher Columbus's voyage helped them to find new land and also get gold. And it was the opening gate of rebirth of Renaissance. But Christopher Columbus and his crew treated the natives as servants and mean. The good effect was that they could spread the catholic to North America.
Henry Hudson was an explorer who passed between London to Hudson Bay. And the Bay and river are came after his name, such as Hudson River and Hudson Bay. He was from England and started the journey at 1610. He had small vessel for exploring and only took 16 crew members. I'm so amazed by his work. He had a smallest ship ever and had only 16 crew members, but passed between South American and Europe.
Henry Hudson couldn't find the passage to Indies and that was negative result of their journey, but however he found new passage and navigable river. He found fertile and good weather lands.
Juan Ponce De Leon was also a Spanish explorer who passed to North America from Puerto Rico. He was born in Puerto Rico and he started his voyage at 1513. he had 3 ships going on for exploring and discovering.
I learned how the explorers found out so many new paths and routes, even though, they didn't have big support. They didn't have a big ship or lots of crew members, their curiosity made them success.
The positive result of his journey was that he got lands for Spanish and earned fame. The bad result was that he killed many Puerto Rico's natives to conquer the land.
Jihea Chang started her journey from London to India. London was the first place to find the route to India. She discovered lots of African countries and exchanged well. The positive effect was that she found many lands and exchanged goods, but the bad thing was that sailors had to ride ship for like 20 years to reach India. It was long and harsh journey and people got easily tired.

Identify the causes of African slavery-America had large plantation and needed more workers. The native Americans worked as worker before African came, but they died by disease easily. So the Europeans and American wanted used African slave, because they were cheap and they didn't know the America well unlike native Americans. They were experienced at farming well, and their black skin shows them well when they tried to escape.
Explain the Triangular Trade Route-On the first route, Europeans transported manufactured good things to the west coast of Africa. There, African merchants who captured other Africans to earn money, exchanges these goods with captured Africans. The Africans are transported and sent to West Indies(Around Caribbean), and Merchants who received African workers, send good products to Europe. On other triangular route, European merchants bring good manufactured goods from New England to Africa because to buy the Africans. And the route keep goes on and on like this.
Identify the consequences of the slave trade-There are so many consequences of the Slave Trade. Agriculture was the biggest consequence because Africans did most of farming. And the culture of Africa such as music, religion, agriculture, and foods have spread out throughout South America and North America. Until now, lots of African-American people still live in United States up to Brazil. These people create part of mixed culture. Another consequence is African lost their fittest member forever. Because of slave trade, lots of Africans had to leave their home countries. They lost their families, and they never got united.
